1952 saw the premiere of the Adventures of Superman live-action television series starring George Reeves in the title role of Superman. The cast also included supporting cast staples such as Lois Lane, played by Phyllis Coates (later by Noel Neill) as well as Jimmy Olsen and Perry White (played by Jack Larson and John Hamilton respectively). Also in 1952, former Superman serial star Kirk Alyn brought another DC Comics icon to the big screen - Blackhawk. Alyn starred in fifteen serial adventures in Blackhawk: Fearless Champion of Freedom.
