In 1977, National Periodical Publications officially becomes DC Comics, Inc. They launch a new marketing offensive: Dollar Comics. Regular issues become 80 page specials for the price of one dollar. Early issues include House of Mystery #251, Superman Family #182, G.I. Combat #201 and World's Finest #244. The price for regular comics is raised to 35 cents later in the year, and Marvel follows suit. Charlton struggles; with most its titles cancelled or put on hiatus, its staff move to Marvel and DC.
