Synopsis for "Man Ain't Nothing But a Man"

Day 1
Steel, Aquagirl, Beast Boy, Plastic Lad and Raven storm the Metropolis offices of Lexcorp. Infinity, Inc. meets them in the lobby, prepared to protect Luthor's interests. Steel takes down Nuklon with his kinetic hammer. Fury attacks him from behind, but Steel quickly disables him as well. Tired of dealing with hired goons, Steel rockets upwards to the penthouse to face Lex Luthor directly.

When he arrives, Mercy tries to hold him at bay with her sidearm, but the bullets bounce harmlessly off of Steel's armor. He elbows her in the chin, knocking her out. Everyman approaches Steel, assuming the form of his daughter, Starlight. He then shape-shifts into a giant mutant crustacean and attempts to ensnare John Henry inside of his giant claws. Although the attack destroys the armor, Irons bursts free from Everyman's grip. Everyman tumbles backwards through the hole that Steel created and falls down several stories.

Lex Luthor finally decides to make his own move. He blasts Steel with a concentrated dose of heat vision, but Irons manages to keep charging at him. He smashes his hammer across Luthor's head, but Lex grabs it, and stabs John Henry through the stomach with it. He then uses his super strength to beat John Henry nearly to death.

Starlight figures out that a close range electrical pulse is required to cancel out the Everyman powers. She rewires her father's kinetic hammer to emit a low-yield EM pulse. The plan works, and Lex loses all of his super-abilities. John Henry takes advantage of Luthor’s weakness and beats him up.

Day 5
In Kahndaq, pouring rains continue to fall, yet plants continue to wither and die. The torrential elements create civil unrest and people begin rioting in the street. Black Adam is powerless to do anything about it. Osiris blames himself, and feels that his actions against the Suicide Squad have somehow cursed him. Confiding in Sobek, he decides to leave Kahndaq in search of the Rock of Eternity.

Day 3
Ralph Dibny brings the Helmet of Fate to Fate's Tower in Salem, Massachusetts. Armed with the mystical accoutrements needed for the spell, Ralph prepares to unite himself with his late wife, Susan. The Helmet of Fate urges him onward, until Ralph places the helmet over his head. He then picks up the Wishing Gun and shoots the helmet, sending it flying off his head onto the floor. The spirit of the sorcerer Felix Faust rises from inside the Helmet. It has been Faust who has been guiding Ralph's actions all these long months.

Felix scrambles to his feet and then realizes that Ralph knew it was him all along. Further, the liquid in Ralph's whisky flask isn't alcohol, but Gingold. Empowered with elasticity once again, the Elongated Man pounces on Felix Faust knocking him to the ground.

He holds the Wishing Gun to Felix's head and asks him why he has been tormenting him. Faust reveals that he bargained with the arch demon Neron for power in exchange for a pure soul. Faust chose Ralph Dibny. Felix knows Neron will soon come for one of them, and tries to escape. Unfortunately for him, Ralph used his knowledge of Doctor Fate to erect a binding spell, trapping Faust in the Tower.

Before long, Neron arrives to collect his prize. In truth, he has little interest in Dibny and only wishes to bring Faust back to Hell with him. Ralph tells him that Faust is his and he has no claim over him. Neron uses his demonic energy to sever Ralph's index finger. He then removes his wedding band and flicks it at superhuman speed. The ring travels like a bullet and pierces Ralph's chest, killing him.

The Elongated Man has the last laugh however. Having baited Neron to appear in the Tower of Fate, he is now trapped inside the binding circle. With Ralph dead, there is no one to cancel the spell's effects.

Synopsis for "Family Matters"

Day 1
Osiris is upset over the blight that has been sweeping across Kahndaq. He takes Sobek down to the Rock of Eternity and petitions an audience with Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel, Jr., and Mary Marvel. Junior had believed that Osiris' actions against the Suicide Squad, notably, the brutal murder of the Persuader, had been were doctored footage, and had told the Teen Titans such. Osiris confesses that it was an accident and he feels that his actions and his powers are a curse upon Kahndaq. Mary is able to calm Junior down, and Captain Marvel explains that he allowed Osiris to enter the cave because the Seven Deadly Sins did not want him there. Marvel interprets this as meaning that Osiris is a good man.

Black Adam and Isis enter the chamber, and Adam tries to reason with him. Osiris blames Black Adam for the darkness within him, and punches him across the room. Captain Marvel and Junior step in and try to break up the fight. During the scuffle, Osiris accidentally backhands Isis. He calms down and agrees to return to Kahndaq with Adam and Isis.

Day 4
In outer space, a group of aliens experiment on Buddy Baker. Having healed him, they intend on abandoning him on an asteroid. The space-faring powers of the space dolphins begins to wane, but Buddy manages to tap into a new power source - a Sun-Eater.

Elsewhere, Lady Styx resurrects herself inside the womb of a pregnant alien woman. She violently bursts forth from the woman's stomach and begins hissing.

Day 5
Back in Kahndaq, Osiris still feels as if his powers are a curse. Sobek suggests that if he speaks the magic words, then perhaps the blight on Kahndaq will be lifted. Osiris agrees, and feels that living in his broken, human body will serve as penance for his sins. Osiris shouts "Black Adam" and returns to a mortal state. Suddenly, Sobek's eyes glow red and he attacks Osiris, biting the crippled boy in half.

Synopsis for "Deaths in the Family"

Day 1
In Kahndaq, Isis' efforts to make rain have been failing. She begs Black Adam to appeal for help, and Adam finally agrees to seek Captain Marvel's help. Suddenly, Black Adam is struck by lightning, and feels stronger.. He knows that it is the power that he once bestowed upon his brother-in-law, Osiris. Heading toward the palace, Adam and Isis find Amon partially digested body, in mortal form. In grief, Isis begs Adam to do something, but it is far to late.

Sobek emerges and reveals himself as Yurrd the Unknown, the Horseman of Famine. He tells Adam and Isis that he merely played the part of a timid, friendly creature. Yurrd's true allies, the Four Horsemen, reveal themselves, claiming responsibility for the misfortunes that have happened upon Kahndaq in recent weeks, to punish Adam for rejecting Intergang's request for safe passage through Kahndaq. Black Adam lunges at Sobek and hyper-extends his jaws, killing him.

Zorrm (Pestilence) disgorges a wave of filth and putrescence, inundating Isis. She quickly begins to falter to the effects of Pestilence's wasting disease. She channels the elements to aid her, but they prove fruitless.

The Horseman of War, Roggra, engages Black Adam, smashing him through several pillars and pounding him into the ground. Azraeuz, the Silent King quietly watches, waiting to take his turn. Roggra mocks Adam, saying that he failed to protect his first family all those millennia ago, and that his son begged for his life. Adam plunges his fist into War's mid-section and pulls out his innards. He then uses the creature’s arm-cannon to blast away at the head of Pestilence.

Finally, Azraeus takes on Adam, nearly overpowering the Black Marvel. Dying, Isis uses the last vestige of power to summon a geyser of lava that erupts from the ground overwhelming Azraeuz. The Horseman of Death ascends into the sky and disappears. Black Adam doesn’t pursue him, but instead rushes to Isis' side. Riddled with disease, she asks her husband to avenge her death, and then quietly passes on. A bolt of lightning streaks out of the sky and the power of Isis returns to Black Adam.

In Nanda Parbat, Renée Montoya observes a rose that wilts and dies. She knows that it can only mean that Isis is dead. Richard Dragon and Tot tell her that it is time for her to leave Nanda Parbat and investigate this most recent string of questions. They arm her with Charlie's hat, trench coat and a supply of pseudoderm.

After the funeral, Montoya addresses Black Adam inside the palace. She tells Adam that she understands his feelings of guilt for failing to save his family. Black Adam reacts violently to Montoya's perceived pity and pushes her to the floor. He tells her that he has traced Azraeuz' presence to Bialya. Bialya is in bed with Intergang and has been providing aid and support to the Four Horsemen project. He tells Montoya that she should return to Gotham City and look into Intergang’s actions there.

Day 4
In Bialya, Azraeuz arrives at the presidential palace. The president of Bialya contacts Bruno Manheim and tells him that their partnership with Intergang was supposed to be kept secret. He doesn’t understand why Azraeuz is in Bialya. Manheim sneers and tells him that Black Adam is probably on his way. He concludes the conversation by saying "Nice knowin' ya...".

Moments later, Black Adam smashes his way into the presidential palace and attacks the president. The meek man begs for mercy, and Adam accommodates him by killing him quickly. He then wreaks a path of destruction across Southern Bialya. News of his rampage travels quickly, and the United States government labors to devise a means to contain Black Adam. At Checkmate, Sasha Bordeaux tells Green Lantern and Mr. Terrific what is going on, but they all know that nothing will be able to contain Black Adam, and that Bialya is doomed.

At Belle Reve, Amanda Waller tells Atom-Smasher that the Suicide Squad needs to be one-hundred strong. Atom tells her to count him out. He still has faith in Black Adam and cannot believe that he would actually be responsible for such widespread carnage. Waller reminds Ataom that he's still a convicted criminal, but Atom gives Waller a choice: hand over his pardon, or Atom will tell Alan Scott about the Suicide Squad.

Day 5
Black Adam has been rampaging for a whole day, killing any soldiers who stand between him and his search for Azraeus. The common citizens begin hurling rocks and bottles at Black Adam, and he turns his attention toward them

Day 6
At the Great Ten's complex at the Great Wall, August General-in Iron informs the Great Ten of Black Adam's rampage. He orders them to begin formulating ways to neutralize him in the event of an attack. Thundermind and Accomplished Perfect Physician believe that they should investigate who caused the Four Horsemen to attack. August General says that their priority is the defense of the People's Republic, not investigating the Four Horsemen.

Back in Kahndaq, Black Adam faces off with Azraeuz. Azraeuz tells him that his own strength has intensified with every person Adam has killed. Adam tells him that he is "Death" no longer and barrels into him. Gripping him in his arms, he shouts the word, "Shazam", multiple times, channeling the mystic lightning into Azraeuz as well as himself. He then bashes Azraeuz into the ground, and tells him that he is going to spend the rest of the night interrogating him and watching him die.

Day 7
On Oolong Island, the Science Squad monitors Black Adam's actions. Veronica Cale is nervous that he may soon learn where the Four Horsemen originated. Doctor Sivana tells her that he likely already knows about their involvement and is on his way.

The alarm systems begin sounding off and all of the scientists except for Sivana grow scared. Sivana waves his arms maniacally and shouts, "Bring him on!"

Day 1
The members of the Science Squad gather around the monitoring station to watch Black Adam's progress. He is only moments away from smashing his way through the island's defenses. Professor T.O. Morrow is the only scientist unconcerned with Adam's rampage. He is more interested in purchasing the remains of Red Tornado off an Internet auction. The terrified scientists begin activating the defenses that they personally constructed, but Dr. Sivana, the only one not in a state of panic, says that it will only make Black Adam mad. In fact, he's enjoying the "show".

While Black Adam's attack commences, Veronica Cale pulls Will Magnus into one of the unoccupied lab stations for a moment of passion. Afterwards, Cale can no longer endure the guilt she feels over the part she played in creating the Four Horseman. She tells Magnus that it's no longer about Intergang or Chang Tzu: the forces of evil are preparing for a final crisis, and by raising the Four Horsemen, they helped bring it about. She walks outside to await Black Adam’s judgment, but the villain, ignoring her, rushes past and smashes into the compound.

With Adam finally in the compound, I.Q. rallies the scientists to fight back against Black Adam. Doctor Tyme and Doctor Cyclops try to keep Adam at bay with their hi-tech weaponry, but this barely even slows him down. Finally, Professor Morrow takes a break from his auction long enough to use a remote that unfolds the dimensions of space the size of a football field in Adam's mind, which brings the Black Marvel to his knees. Doctor Sivana briefly immobilizes him with a Neuro Crown. Meanwhile, Professor Morrow wins his auction.

Day 3
In Metropolis, Steel, Starlight and several police officers frog-march Lex Luthor out of the Lexcorp building. The press corps are present to witness Luthor's downfall, including Clark Kent. Clark grows immediately suspicious and rushes past the police line into the building. Steel follows him, and Clark tells him that Lex would never give up so easily. Clark's suspicions prove truthful as they find the true Lex Luthor inside of a lead-lined hidden room. The Luthor in police custody is actually Everyman. Everyman reveals his true visage, but Starlight (now wearing an armor battle suit again) beats him down.

Day 4
In Bialya, the Justice Society vainly search for survivors. Green Lantern somberly indicates that he has accounted for over two-million dead. Jay and Ted are concerned over the state of affairs in the current super-hero community – specifically the JSA legacy heroes. As if on cue, Atom-Smasher arrives and volunteers his assistance in tracking down Black Adam.

The offering fails to yield results and Brother Abbot criticizes Manheim for his consistent misinterpretation of the Book of Crime. Nightwing and Montoya continue fighting Intergang's monster horde. One of their number however, Brother Abbot, betrays his colleagues and joins with Dick and Montoya. He no longer believes in the prophecy and he thinks that Manheim and Whisper are insane.

Before fleeing the crime scene, the monsters activate a device which sets off satellite energy cannons all across the city. Montoya tells Dick that he is the only that can find all of the devices in time and shut them down. Meanwhile, she plans on tracking down Kathy. As she leaves, Renée activates a sample of Pseudoderm and uses it to disguise her face. She has now adopted the identity of the Question.

Montoya follows Intergang's trail to Cathedral Square where Kathy is being held captive. As she enters the church, she finds Bruno Manheim standing before an altar preparing to offer Kathy up as a human sacrifice. Renee fights past several more monster-men, but she is too late. Manheim plunges a ritualistic dagger into Kathy's chest. She begins shooting wildly at Manheim driving him back against the wall. While the two fight, Kathy struggles to rise from the altar. She pulls the dagger from her chest and hurls it at Manheim. The knife plunges into his back and he falls over dead. Montoya rushes to Kane’s side. She only has moments to live.

Meanwhile, the Great Ten set down on the shores of Oolong Island and confront the JSA. They want the JSA to stand down or else risk an international incident. Scott is adamant and tells them that they are retrieving Black Adam and that he will be brought to justice.

Chang Tzu meanwhile attempts to fight off the Metal Men. Doctor Magnus produces a particle wave gun and blasts Chang Tzu's shell, killing him. At the Rock of Eternity, Captain Marvel crash lands to where the Phantom Stranger, Madame Xanadu, Zachary Zatara and Zatanna are waiting. His petition to the Egyptian Gods to remove Black Adam's powers failed; evidently, they support Adam's rampage and laughed at his request. They engage upon a new course of action.

Back in China, Steel and Natasha Irons (wearing a version of her Steel armor) arm a thunder missile and aim it at Black Adam. The missile is filled with A.I. nanites that they hope will shut down his motor functions. Suddenly, Booster Gold appears from out of the time stream and snatches the thunder missile, saying he needs it and it wouldn't have worked anyway. Steel and Natasha then join the battle.

The JSA finds members of the new Infinity, Inc. and ask them to help out. The amateur heroes are terrified however, and turn to run away.

Flash receives a mystical communiqué from Zatanna and coordinates with Green Lantern on a new strategy. Green Lantern and Power Girl snatch up Black Adam in an energy wave and begin pulling him upward into the sky.

Captain Marvel meanwhile flies downward towards Adam’s location. He shouts “Shazam”, and channels the power of the mystic lightning bolt into Black Adam, and in a brilliant explosion of energy, Black Adam is transformed back into Teth-Adam. Falling from the sky, he frantically screams "Shazam!" to no avail, but a giant hand catches him as he falls. When everyone regains their senses, Black Adam is nowhere to be found. Captain Marvel tells Flash that he changed the magic word, so Adam can no longer tap into his super-powers. He swears that he will never tell another living soul what the new word is. World War III is over.

Later, Teth-Adam is seen wandering the streets in Kahndaq, muttering various words that might hold the key to his powers.

Later that evening, Professor T.O. Morrow pilots Doctor Sivana's Omniship to the Rocky Mountains. He brings the head of the Red Tornado into a small lab facility, and the robot is still repeatedly droning, "52". Deciding to see what Red is talking about, Morrow puts on a pair of goggles to access his memory files—and is struck speechless by what he sees. Rip Hunter and Booster Gold suddenly appear in Morrow's lab, startling him. Rip say to Morrow, "Get your ass in gear, Prof. 'Cause we're already way outta time".

Synopsis for "A Year in the Life"

Rip Hunter revealed to Booster Gold that, after the events of Infinite Crisis, the remaining Earths created by Alexander Luthor collapsed back together, combining historical remnants to form one New Earth. However, the single universe was too small to contain the energy inside it and it began replicating - into 52 identical Universes, a new Multiverse.

Further, in the few seconds after the creation of this new Multiverse, the Earths (and their corresponding Universes) "will occupy the same space, each on a different vibrational plane.

During their efforts to stop the vastly powerful Mr. Mind from destroying every universe, Hunter described Mind's efforts as "eating years and events from this universe's history -- altering the Earth with every flap of his wings". This resulted in the Earths changing, becoming different from New Earth in varying degrees.

Hunter's plan to defeat Mr. Mind rested with Booster, Supernova, and Skeets. By fortifying Skeets' shell with Sivana's invention, Suspendium, they managed to imprison Mr. Mind in Skeets. Booster threw Skeets through an opening in time while Supernova ensured that it ended up in the correct time: Week 0 Day 0. Mr. Mind's devolved form is found (again) by Sivana, who imprisons him. Hunter used the 52 seconds of missing time to bind Mr. Mind, forever condemned to live within that loop.

Hunter further states that "the notion that there's a Multiverse beyond the reality we know -- that's too dangerous a secret to spread." However, he had let that very thing slip in front of Doctor Sivana.
