Synopsis for Green Lantern: "I, the Jury"

John Stewart testifies before Congress, coming out as the Green Lantern. A congressman claims that John was seen when an F-16 jet fighter got shot out of the sky, damaging a Coast City penthouse apartment and an office building. John denies his presence at the scenes, claiming that Star Sapphire was responsible for the damages. He also claimes that Star Sapphire was after the other Green Lantern, and that he was burying his wife during the incident. He explains that he did not choose to be a Green Lantern and that he was no longer one. Suddenly, Hal's Green Lantern Ring flies in and lands on John's table. Then Carol Ferris enters the room to testify against John. Angry, John puts his ring and screams that she is responsible for the incidents and of his wife's death, then aims his power toward her and suffocates her to death. Everyone looks at him, in horror as he just killed a seemingly innocent woman, and he flies out of the building.

John returns to his apartment in Coast City, intrigued by why Hal's ring approached him. He assumes that Hal must be death or in trouble. When he's about to recharge it, a blast of Star Sapphire's energy brings the building down. She claims the he killed Hal Jordan, and that she knew Hal would send his ring to John. As John reaches the battery, he's horrified to find a dead child among the debris, another innocent killed for being in the way of John Stewart.

Later, John returns to Washington, D.C. and goes to the morgue to find Carol's corpse. She comes alive and claims that the Guardians of Oa took her people, the Zamarons, away and that somebody had to pay for that. When John lashes out that she is not the real queen of the Zamarons, that she's just a "stand-in for the real thing," John realizes that the same applies to him. Unable to keep arguing with Carol, John leaves from the morgue and visits Katma's grave. John takes off his ring and throws it away. Immediately, the police surrounds him, putting him under arrest.

Meanwhile, in another part of the universe, Hal Jordan is chained on the planet Golgotha, stripped of his ring and posing as a living lightning rod.

Synopsis for Wild Dog: "Unleashed"

The Time Machine, one of the most popular comic book shops in Quad Cities, was closing for the night. One of the customers, a boy named Bob, had picked up an issue of "Groundhogs from Uranus." Meanwhile, outside of the building were two members of the Legion of Morality. One member spray painted a circle with a cross on the street outside of the shop, while the other one lit up dynamite and threw it into the shop, causing an explosion inside, killing the owner, while injuring Bob and another customer.

Somewhere else in Quad Cities, Jack was meeting with B. Lyle Layman in the latter's apartment. Later on, Jack phoned Andy and informed him that he had gained Layman's trust, only to be informed by his friend that another bookstore had been bombed. Later, Lou, Susan, and Andy were outside of the destroyed building, having little doubt that it was the same group that bombed another bookstore earlier. Next, they spotted the organization's symbol on the road. That night, at Jack's garage, he met up with Andy and insisted that Wild Dog could solve their problem.

Sometime later, on a highway, a truck driver stopped by on the road upon seeing a man who appeared to be changing a tire. The truck driver exited his vehicle and was held at gunpoint by members of the Legion. The Legion had discovered that the driver was transporting magazines, then ordered him to torch them. The driver refused to torch the magazines and was knocked unconscious as a result. Suddenly, Wild Dog drove to their position in his truck and got out, which a Legion member responded by throwing a Molotov, which the vigilante caught and threw back, burning the terrorist alive. Next, two Legion members shot at Wild Dog in the chest, knocking him down.
