Synopsis for "The Last Purge of Krypton!"

Returning to the Fortress of Solitude, Superman finds it destroyed. Unsure of what has happened, he finds Unit 12, one of the Eradicator robots. Unit 12 informs him that after the Cyborg Superman nearly killed the Eradicator, it returned to the Fortress and drained it of all of its power and energy in order to restore itself and defeat the Cyborg. The drain weakened the structural force fields of the Fortress destroying it in the process.

Back at S.T.A.R. Labs, Superman meets with Kitty Faulkner and Dr. David Connor, as they discuss the Eradicator's current condition. While its physical condition has improved it is still showing no brain activity. Kitty asks Superman if he has access to anymore data on the Eradicator that could help explain his condition. Superman returns to the Fortress of Solitude to look for any, but without success. He instead buries what's left of the fortress along with some Kryptonian bullets.

When Superman returns to Metropolis he arrives just in time to save from people from a burning building. The building was condemned and witnesses mentioned that they had heard explosions just prior to the start of the fire. Upon closer investigation of the building Superman finds a dead 16 year old boy along with equipment that was used to start the fire. As Superman is talking to the Fire Commissioner outside, a group of people who have begun to worship Superman as a god due to his apparent resurrection arrive. He gets their attention and makes a big speech about him being mortal, and that they should spend their time more wisely like volunteering for good causes.

At WGBS, Cat Grant is sexually harassed by her boss Vincent Edge. And at S.T.A.R. Labs, Dr Connor laments that he is dying of cancer. As he continues to work on the Eradicator, his condition gets worse and he activates some switches by accident. An explosion occurs and the Eradicator is set free, alive and well. Superman hears about the explosion through a police radio and races to the Lab.

He arrives to witnesses who say that the Eradicator killed Dr. Connor. The Eradicator breaks through some glass and tries to fly off. Superman attempts to stop him and a battle ensues. The Eradicator attempts to explain that he is Dr. Connor but Superman doesn't believe him at first. Eventually Dr. Connor explains that something must have happened during the power surge that caused his mind to leave his failing body and join the Eradicator's. Connor says that he plans to use his new body and power to take vengeance on criminals. Superman says that he needs to come in for some tests to really find out what happened. Connor disagrees, fires an energy blast at Superman and escapes!
