Blind boy Joie Matthew is a genius at toymaking, which genius two crooks named Cawley and Gooding are eager to exploit. They host a toy-making competition, intending to steal the inventions and patent them in their own names. But Superboy bollixes their scheme, makes sure they give Joie the $5,000 prize money as they promised, and gets him to an eye-surgeon who restores his sight. Joie also begins a toy manufacturing company, employing many Smallville children as designers.
