Synopsis for "The Face Behind the Lead Mask!"

In the 21st Century, a meeting of the Legion of Super-Heroes is under way. Attending are Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad, and Sun Boy. Without explanation the groups powers flare out of control, prompting them to contact their friend Superboy from the 20th Century to come and help them.
While in the past, Superboy had just finished visiting Lex Luthor in prison as Clark Kent to see if he has gotten over his hatred of his alter ego. Returning home, Clark checks on his friend Mon-El, who is still trapped in the Phantom Zone until he can find a cure for his lead poisoning. Clark then gets the Legion signal and travels to the future to join his friends in the Legion.
There, the Legion tells Superboy of their problem, and after Sun Boy accidentally melts the ice off a mountain, the space police arrive and demand that the Legion get their powers under control within the hour or face exile from Earth. After being unable to find any physical reason for the Legionaries to lose control their powers, Superboy is stumped. Suddenly they are visisted by a being calling himself Ulthro, who is wearing a lead mask. Ulthro tells them that he has caused the recent troubles with a power disruption device. When Superboy tries to get the device, Ulthro keeps Superboy back with a Kryptonite beam.
The Legion members then grab Superboy and flee to a location where they had buried a Phantom Zone projector. The Legion thenn has Superboy transport Mon-El to 21st Century Earth. Superboy, in spite of his protests does so, and although at first Mon-El begins to suffer the effects of the lead poisoning, he snaps out of it and helps the Legion fight back against Ulthro. During the fight, Ulthro is smashed, and revealed to be a robot created by Lex Luthor and sent into the future to destroy the Legion.
When Mon-El begins to feel weak again, Saturn Girl explains that she gave him an experimental antidote to make him immune to lead, however it was only temporary, and so the Legion returns Mon-El to the Phantom Zone until they can make the cure permanent. Afterwards, the Legion explains everything to the Space Police and Superboy returns to his own time.
