Adventures of Superman #482 is an issue of the series Adventures of Superman (Volume 1) with a cover date of September, 1991.

Synopsis for "The Planet Strikes!"

Intergang prepares to strike the Daily Planet in retaliation for all the exposés they published.

At the same time, the Daily Planet deals with another type of strike, as more fired employees protest in front of the building. During one of those protests, Jimmy and Cat notice a man running and crashing through the people. They follow him to an alleyway, and the stranger turns out to be the Parasite. Jimmy activates his signal watch, and Superman arrives shortly after. The Parasite absorbs electrical energy from some wires on the wall and attempts to absorb Superman's powers. But the combination of energies causes a blow that sends both of them on their backs. With Superman weakened, Parasite absorbs his powers, beats him, and flies away with Cat and Jimmy to S.T.A.R. Labs.

Later on, Superman asks Emil Hamilton's help, and Superman uses the force field belt to confront Parasite again. The Man of Steel forces the Parasite to come out of the building and holds him in the air, protected by his force field. The Metropolis Special Crimes Unit bombards them with voltage, which Parasite absorbs. However, Superman turns the shield off and causes the same reaction from earlier in the alleyway, overcharging and depleting Parasite. The foe falls to the ground and the S.C.U. takes him away.
