A young man is about to jump off his apartment building. Meanwhile, Superman is fighting Metallo. At first, Metallo gets the upper hand with his Kryptonite hard but Superman defeats him using construction materials to attack Metallo from afar. As Professor Hamilton and S.T.A.R. Labs do the clean-up, Superman catches the young man before he hits the ground. The young man thanks Superman and returns home. A few days later, he attempts to commit suicide again but Superman saves him. Superman gets an attorney to talk to the young man's family about his suicidal actions. It turns out the family knew all along about this and knew Superman would save him. The whole family actually belongs to a congregation called the Church of Superman, made up of 900 people who believe Superman to be a god. They plan to jump off buildings, believing Superman will save them.

Superman, disguised as an ordinary citizens, visits the apartment of Bob and Wendy. Revealing himself, Superman says he knows they are con artists. Bob and Wendy created the Church of Superman and asked people to give large donations to them in order to pay a large debt they had to dangerous people. Their daughter, Katelyn, is a Superman fan and her blog had thousands of followers, so they started up the Church in order get money. However, they never knew people would attempt to commit suicide. Superman tells them to end the Church while he attempts to talk to the people out of jumping off buildings.

However, Metallo attacks him with Kryptonite beams. As he brutally beats Superman, the people in rooftops lose faith in him and return to their homes. Later, Professor Hamilton goes to check in on Superman, saying that the Church followers have been placed under the care of the authorities. It turns out Superman had not been attacked by Metallo, it was in fact a robot similar to Metallo created by S.T.A.R. Labs. Superman had asked them for help in ending the Church.
