HistoryEdit

Origin

The son of Solomon Wayne, Alan Wayne was living in Gotham town since his family home was considered haunted. However, one day, he was walking on a bridge when he was passed by a melee - a masked cowboy dueling with a gang of "superior criminals" for ownership of a mysterious wooden box. Moved to act by his own conscience, he rushed into the fray, saving the life of a woman named Catherine Van Derm from the ruckus.

Later, he married Catherine, and the two moved back into Wayne Manor. With his wife, he founded Wayne Shipping, the company which was to provide for his descendants. His wife gave him a son, Kenneth, but she died in childbirth.

In the last two decades of the 19th century, Alan Wayne, along with representatives of three other prominent Gotham families - Theodore Cobblepot, Edward Elliot and Cameron Kane - hired two architect brothers to help them modernise the city. However, when one architect died in a construction accident and the other went mad, Wayne and his compatriots closed ranks. [1]

The New 52

The DC Universe heavily changed its continuity into the DCnU following the events of Flashpoint in 2011. This was part of an effort to make storylines more accessible to newer readers, beginning with the New 52. This new timeline combines elements from the DCU, Vertigo Universe and Wildstorm Universe while drastically changing the origins and histories of characters.

Court of Owls

In the early years of the 20th century, Alan Wayne was targeted by a secret organization called the Court of Owls, and they were instrumental in his murder.
