Personal History

Ross was born in Portland, Oregon, and raised in Lubbock, Texas. Ross attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago and graduated at the age of 20.

Professional History

Alex Ross is an American comic book writer and illustrator. He is well known in the comic book industry for his unique and realistic drawing style. Ross began his career working for Marvel Comics in 1973 as a cover artist. His first published work for DC Comics was in 1994 in working as a cover artist in the title Spectre. His most notable work in DC Comics was the Elseworlds story Kingdom Come, which Ross wrote and illustrated himself.

Four of his works with DC earned him the Eisner Award for Best Cover Artist and Best Painter/Multimedia Artist. He is a six time winner of the Eisner Award
