Alex Toth (b. June 25, 1928 – d.May 27, 2006) was a writer.

Professional History

Alex Toth was a professional illustrator. He started his career in comic books on the late 40's, working for DC Comics on some of their superhero titles. After his short stint at the US Army, Toth started working on the Animation industry, where he contributed to Hanna Barbera with his Space Ghost design and later the Super Friends cartoon. He worked again for DC Comics in the 70s and he also worked for Marvel Comics and other comic book companies. He worked in the comic book industry until the 80s.

Personal History

Toth attended the School of Industrial Art, where he studied illustration. In 1954, Toth was drafted into the U.S. Army and stationed in Tokyo, Japan. He returned to the US in 1956.

Toth was the father of four, two sons and two daughters. His first wife was Christina Schraber Hyde, but they divorced in 1968 and his second wife Guyla Avery died in 1985. Toth died on May 27, 2006 from a heart attack.
