Synopsis for "Shadows & Light"

The Time Trapper has turned the Justice League into babies, but is defeated by their proteges, the Teen Titans. This causes Batman to reminisce about his own early days as a super hero.

Batman finds himself confronted by the original Green Lantern, Gotham City's former protector, who disapproves of Batman's methods of skulking around in the shadows and using fear and intimidation. Heroes need to be a symbol of hope, he insists. Batman retorts that Green Lantern did a good job fighting monsters and flashy villains, but his methods made it easy for ordinary criminals to hide from him. They join forces to rescue a kidnapped girl, and meet up again a few days later. Batman's now wearing a less-intimidating costume, having taken to heart Green Lantern's statements that heroes need to inspire hope as well as fear. Green Lantern agrees with Batman of the importance of battling all kinds of crime, but also says that if Batman's going to be a costumed hero, sooner or later he'll have to concern himself with powerful villains too. He introduces Batman to the Justice Society, who agree to help train him for the challenges ahead, as well as another new hero taken under their wing, the Black Canary.
