Alvin Schwartz (b. November 17, 1916 – d.October 28, 2011) was a writer.

Professional History

Alvin Schwartz was an American comic book writer, poet and novelist. He worked for DC Comics during the 40's until the late 50's when he moved on to other projects. Schawrtz began working for DC in 1942 on the title Action Comics and later worked on titles like Batman, World's Finest and many other Golden Age comic books. He is notorious for writing the first story that featured Batman and Superman together for the first time in World's Finest #71.

Personal History

Schwartz was married and lived in Chesterville, Ontario; Canada. He died in 2011 at the age of 94 of heart-related complications.
