Aphrodite is the goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation in Greek mythology. This has made her a supporting character to the superhero Wonder Woman, whose origins are tied to Olympus. Her father is Zeus, her husband is Hephaestus, and her children are Deimos, Eris, Eros, Harmonia, and Phobos. She is the special patron of the Amazons of Paradise Island. Like all the Olympians, Aphrodite has a counterpart among the Gods of Rome known as Venus.

Aphrodite was adapted by William Moulton Marston and Harry G. Peter, first appearing in All-Star Comics #8 (1942).
