Aquarius was a member of a group of near omnipotent living stars called the Council of Living Stars. He was convicted of heinous crime by his peers and was stripped of most of his powers and banished from the Council. He would find himself on Earth-Two where his presence would attract the attention of Starman who would try and probe the anomalous star with his Cosmic Rod. Aquarius would strip Star Man of his Star Rod and regain his full powers. In spite of an attempt by the Justice Society of America to try and stop him, Aquarius would attempt to destroy the Earth-Two Universe. Succeeding in eliminating everything except for the assembled Justice Society.
The JSA would send Red Tornado to Earth-One to recruit the Justice League of America to help battle Aquarius, however the JLA would be caught up in their own cases and be unable to accompany Red Tornado back to Earth-Two until two weeks after his arrival in their universe. Finally coming to their comrades rescue, they would find the JSA in the thrall of Aquarius and have to fight their alternate universe comrades. During the fight Larry Lance would sacrifice his life saving the life of his wife the Black Canary by an energy ball hurled by Aquarius. This would cause Aquarius to lose control over the JSA and also restore the Earth-Two universe to normal. After the heroes held a funeral for Larry, Aquarius would come to battle them once more. Chasing the menace into space, both Green Lanterns (Hal Jordan and Alan Scott) would trick Aquarius into flying into a portal to the anti-mater universe. With no means of protecting himself from the anti-mater universe Aquarius would be destroyed, ending his menace.
The continued existence of Aquarius due to the effects of Crisis on Infinite Earth's, Infinite Crisis or Final Crisis remain to be revealed, presumably his existence was erased follow the dissolution of the Earth-Two universe, as yet no New Earth incarnation of Aquarius has appeared since.
Powers and AbilitiesEdit
Unique Physiology: Aquarius was a member of a species of living stars, while their powers were vast it is unknown the exact extent of their powers. These powers were mystical by nature, and fatal to characters susceptible to magic such as Kryptonians. When Aquarius had his powers reduced he was simply a sentient star until he obtained the Cosmic Rod. Using the device he was somehow able to restore himself to possibly his full potential.
Mental Illness: Aquarius was maniac-depressive and insane.
