History
Ayria was a despotic member of the Green Lantern Corps assigned to protect his home system of Aegri Somnia, composed of three planets. Determined to bring order by uniting the individual worlds, he waged war and attempted to rule with an iron fist. After conquering the two that opposed him, Ayria set up a tyrannical regime, murdering all who stood in his way. He even murdered his own brother as a sign of how ruthless he would be. Ayria established concentration camps for the resistance movement against him, and committed genocide in a massive holocaust of all those who defied his will. When his power ring was stolen by a consort who betrayed him, his blood lust increased, and he scoured the planet killing even his closest officers on suspicion alone. Eventually, after inadvertently killing the woman who had taken his ring, her own willpower reanimated the corpses of his victims, and they rose up to slay him, finally bringing his reign of terror to an end.[1] His body was later shown to be memorialized in the Crypts of the Green Lantern Corps on Oa, despite the atrocities he engaged in.[2] During Blackest Night, he appears resurrected as a member of the newly established Black Lantern Corps.[3]Powers and Abilities
