Synopsis for "Confession"

Robin and Nightwing arrive in the Batcave, where they help Batman battle the crazed Azrael, who manages to elude all three of them, whereupon he makes his way to a construction site and gets hold of a couple of crates of explosives. Batman decides that it is time to put an end to Azrael and his madness.

Oracle and Leslie Thompkins worry about Azrael's condition, as he gets a vision of St. Dumas, telling him to destroy the order's old castle. Batman arrives there shortly afterwards and tries to talk to Azrael, but the vision of St. Dumas commands him to kill his former mentor. As they begin to battle once more, the explosives go off and the castle begins to come down on them...

Bruce Wayne: Fugitive Crossover
DC Rebirth Logo

This comic issue is a part of the Bruce Wayne: Murderer? and Bruce Wayne: Fugitive story that went through every Batman Family title in 2002. Bruce Wayne was framed for the murder of his love interest Vesper Fairchild and forced to go on the run from the law so he could prove his innocence. This adventure almost completely compromised his identity from the inside.
