Barbara Eileen Gordon is the ex-wife of James Gordon and mother of James Gordon, Jr.. She divorced her husband after struggling with his infidelity, and he would later go on to marry Sarah Essen. Despite having no direct connection, she shares the name of James' niece Barbara Gordon who would go on to become Batgirl. Barbara Eileen Gordon was created by Frank Miller and Dave Mazzucchelli, first appearing during their Batman: Year One storyline in Batman #404. (1987)
