Synopsis for "Arena"

After Mongul's defeat and banishment to the Phantom Zone at Superman's hands, Mongul's son Jochi and a new Warworld approach Earth. Jochi demands a duel to avenge his father: Batman and Superman will either bring a clan to battle him on his world or his Warworld will destroy the Earth.

Batman and Superman go to pick two clan members. Superman picks Supergirl -who receives a sword from Wonder Woman- and Krypto, and Steel as a hidden ally. Batman chooses Batgirl and Red Hood. He warns them that they might not come back from this mission, and Jason replies that is the case every single time they walk out of the Batcave.

Before the group head to the arena, Batgirl and Steel sneak out with orders of dismantling Warworld's weapons. While they blow the weapons up, the clans fight in the arena to decide who will eventually rule Warworld.

The two last clans are the Superman Clan and the Batman Clan. They must battle to death and fight seriously or they with be killed and Earth destroyed.

The two clans fight, but they refuse to kill each other. The Council tries to destroy Earth, but Superman sends the whole planet into the Phantom Zone. In the Zone, Jochi is killed by Mongul.

After the battle Superman reflects Jochi wasn't truly irredeemable and Batman helped him change a bit. Superman thinks of Superboy, who was bred to be an assassin but became a hero, and wonders if they could have changed Jochi with enough time. Batman, who is missing Damian, doesn't want to talk about it and says they should not dwell on the past.
