Synopsis for "Death and the Maidens, Chapter Five"

Talia says she will do anything as long as Nyssa doesn’t kill her again, but Nyssa does anyway. She muses that the madness, helplessness, pain, and lack of control when you emerge from a Lazarus Pit is worse than the dying, then promises Talia that she won’t hurt her anymore. She won’t let anyone hurt her anymore, she’ll take care of Talia “like a sister.”

In 1941, Nyssa and the Jewish community she lived in were abducted from their synagogue in Kyiv by Nazis. Ra’s al Ghul came to the concentration camp and spoke to Nyssa through the fence, but he refused to save her from his allies, though she begs and she tells him that her children—his grandchildren—were raped and murdered. He tells her it is for the greater good as she is dragged away by guards.

In his hallucination, Bruce and Martha walk through Gotham City. She takes him to a park where Thomas is waiting for them, though Martha didn’t think Thomas wanted to speak to Bruce. Thomas demands to know what Bruce has to say for himself.
