Synopsis
Impostors is a four-part Batman storyline written by David Hine and illustrated by Scott McDaniel. It's a promotional tie-in to the Gotham City Impostors video game featuring similar themes and characters. This arc was published in Detective Comics directly after Hine's Arkham Reborn and followed by the beginning of Snyder's Batman in The Black Mirror.
The storyline features a villain named Winslow Heath who starts a gang war between two rival gangs. Posing as an impostor Batman and Joker, he manipulates two groups called the Guardian Bats and the Jokerz into waging violent war across Gotham. Heath is a former junkie whose girlfriend was killed during a fight between Batman and the Joker, causing him to blame Batman when he's permanently disfigured by Joker toxin.
