Synopsis for "The Greatest Mother of Them All"
A charity dedicated to Mother of the Year takes shape, the award going to one Ma Parker, who holds the audience at gunpoint as she introduces her four children Pretty Boy, Machine Gun, Mad Dog and daughter Legs, whom she likes least of all. Commissioner Gordon, knowing that Ma Parker has never set foot in Gotham due it's protection from the Dynamic Duo, informs Batman of the robbery. He and Robin arrive at Gordon's office, where, after some discussion on the Parker family, Gordon gets a phone call with the news that Ma and her children are taking residence in a remote cottage on Cherry Blossom Road and a long stand-off has ensued. Ma, however, is not bothered at all as she and her kids are having dinner, though she does threaten them with her Madsen M50. With the police admitting that it will take an army to get her out, Batman and Robin and manage to sneak in through the top floor. They fight the boys while Ma hides and Legs clears the dinner table. Ma admits defeat and she is taken outside, but not before making her getaway with a smoke bomb hidden in her hair. All but Pretty Boy, whom Batman tripped, manage to get away.
Each of the Dynamic Duo's following attempts to capture the Parker family, leads to getting one member of the gang's arrest: Machine Gun at the Bijou Theater, Mad Dog at a drug store, and finally Ma and Legs at a retirement home. Legs immediately surrenders, but Ma deliberately drives her jet powered wheelchair into a wall, leading to her arrest. Batman remarks that the whole escapade was almost too easy.
At Warden Crichton's office, the Warden himself informs the Parker family about Gotham State Penitentiary's goal to rehabilitate criminals and thanks the Dynamic Duo for their capture. But as soon as Batman and Robin leave, things start to get worse when the guards non-verbally refuse Crichton's orders to take the Parker family into their cells. For months, reports Ma, she has been replacing each of the penitentiary's guards with members of her own gang to take over the prison, thinking that no one will suspect a criminal already in jail. She has also enlisted a trustee to plant a car bomb in the Batmobile's engine, which will explode when the speedometer reaches 60 miles per hour.
