The Thirteenth Hat is an episode of season 1 of Batman. It premiered on February 23, 1966.
Synopsis for "The Thirteenth Hat"
The Mad Hatter is out once again and starts kidnapping the twelve members of the jury that convicted him on his first trial, stealing their headwear as well.
After the first series of kidnappings, the Gotham City Police Department alerts Batman and Robin about The Mad Hatter's new crimes, while the criminal prepares a deadly machine in his hideout for Batman, as he is the final victim in Tetch's vengeful plan. Tetch wants to steal Batman's cowl and make it the thirteen hat in his mad scheme, in revenge against Batman.
Batman and Robin deduce where Hatter would strike again and they go to the studio of Octave Marbot; a sculptor who is creating a Batman statue. The Mad Hatter arrives first and disguises himself as Marbot as to convince Batman to take off his cowl and give it to him as a model for his statue. When Batman and Robin realize the truth, The Mad Hatter and his henchmen strike and Batman is encased in plaster, released from a tube on the ceiling.
