Synopsis for "Day of the Samurai"

While practicing in a dojo, young student Kairi Tanaga was kidnapped by Kyodai Ken, who left a scroll for Master Yoru.

Batman received a call from Yoru and he traveled to Japan along with Alfred. Upon meeting with Yoru, he learned about Ken's true intentions: the ninja wanted to steal an old secret from Yoru, the location of a certain scroll with information about the deadliest martial art ever created. Yoru was the last living descendant of the creator of the martial arts and thus Ken kidnapped Yoru's star apprentice in order to obtain the secret location of the scroll. Yoru called Bruce expecting Batman to help him.

Ken called and gave Yoru an adress to exchange Kairi for the map. Batman arrived at the ransom drop on a rooftop and tried to take Kairi from Ken. Kairi seized the chance and attacked Ken while he was distracted. Ken kicked her and she fell from the building. Batman dived in order to save her and Ken managed to retrieve the map he was looking for. After landing on a nearby balcony, Batman left Kairi in a safe place before chasing Ken. After a brief fight, Ken managed to escape from Batman, with the map that revealed the location of the hidden scroll.

Ken was led by the map to a secret cave below Mt. Kijiki and inside he found the place where the scroll had been hidden for more than five-hundred years. Ken took the scroll but it turned into fragments because of its old age. Ken tried to reassemble the scroll but when he find a large piece that wasn't fragmented, he took that with him and left the rest behind. Moments later, Batman arrived at the same place and took all the fragments with him. Bruce returned to Master Yoru and together they reassembled the remainig pieces of the scroll. Yoru informed Batman that the missing fragment held the information of the "fatal touch", a technique so deadly that could kill the victim instantly. Yoru told Bruce that Batman might be in grave danger.

Meanwhile, Alfred was buying some groceries in the city without knowking that Ken was following him. When Bruce returned to their hotel room, he answered a phone call from Ken, telling him to meet at Mt. Kijiki if he wanted to see Alfred alive. Bruce tracked the call and found the direction from which Ken was making the call.

Before going to the meeting point, Batman decided to investigate Ken's place and found that a training dummy has been used before and noticed that a specific point was soft due to repeated hits.

Batman arrived at Mt. Kijiki and Ken told him to remove his cape and cowl. Bruce agreed and the fight began. The two of them were formidable fighters and it was an even match. After a while, the volcano at the top of the mountain began exploding and lava started to pour from it. Ken decided it was time to finish the fight and he tried to apply the lethal touch on Bruce. For a while, Bruce was able to hold Ken's hand but in the end, Ken managed to touch Bruce in the chest and apparently killed him. Ken was leaving the place when Bruce stopped pretending and attacked Ken from behind. Ken was surprised that Bruce had survived the lethal touch but still he fought back. They reached a point where the ground below them, cracked in two and separated them from one another and a river of lava crossed the space between them. Bruce tossed a Batrope for Ken to grab but the ninja refused and he disappeared after a big explosion struck him. Batman returned to Alfred and saved him. Both of them moved away from the exploding volcano. Alfred was curious of how did Bruce survived Ken's lethal touch and he explained that after seeing the training dummy's soft spot he reinforced that same spot in his own body by placing an armored plate on his chest.

Bruce returned to Yoru and told him what happened. Before leaving, Bruce was concerned of him being too similar to Kyodai, but Yoru told him that he was more of a samurai than a ninja. Bruce thanked his old mentor and departs.
