Synopsis for "The Third Door"

Bruce Wayne attends a party held at Crenshaw Mansion, only to be accused of murdering a fellow guest, diplomat Jacob Brenner. The key evidence is that Bruce reached the dying Brenner before any of the other guests - a feat he only accomplished with Batman's physical training. As Bruce cannot reveal this fact, he is forced to surrender himself to police custody, while Dick Grayson pursues the true murderer.

From Brenner's dying word and action, Bruce and Dick independently deduce that Brenner's true killer had escaped through the passage built into a nearby grandfather clock. Thus, the killer could only have been the mansion's owner, David Crenshaw.

Bruce surreptitiously escapes his cell, changes into Batman, and confronts Crenshaw, only to find that Crenshaw has discovered and taken Dick hostage. While Crenshaw rants about his motivations for killing Brenner, Batman signals for Dick to tilt himself sideways, throwing Brenner off-balance. Batman then subdues Crenshaw, securing a confession and clearing Bruce Wayne's name.
