Synopsis for "Legends of the Dark Knight: Inque"

Batman is fighting Inque while the army stands by. Batman uses his freezing batarangs and then uses dehumidifier capsules revealing he's been working on some new ways to defeat Inque with Bruce. The attacks prove to be ineffective and she attacks Batman while she knocks out the army. She escapes by taking over a soldier's body and then takes off through the city. Batman wakes up and goes after Inque. She's getting weak from the mutagen that transformed her into Inque and begins to tell her story.

She grew up in a very poor city. Her home was quickly demolished in the Civil War and she and her family were sent to a refugee camp. She and her father almost died of disease. Her family was forced to trade at the camp's black market. They traded everything they had. Then the war came to the camp and the black market was shut down. The camp was evacuated to the boats but her mother was killed by bullets before she even reached the boats. Her father was forced to stay behind to pay a debt he owed to the black market. She was forced to leave the camp alone. When they arrived at their destination, she was taken to an unknown location. She escaped from them the first chance she got and found out she was in Gotham City. Shen then found out she was pregnant and vowed to have a better life for her and her child. She got offered a chance to have food and shelter for a short time by becoming a guinea pig to some scientists. They thought she might die from the experiments and let her go. She then lived in a charity ward for a while and had her baby, a daughter. Few months later, the experiments took their toll on her and was forced to give her daughter, Deanna up for adoption. She returned to the shelter to die but instead, she became a big blob and thus, Inque was born. She quickly learned to control her abilities and was hired by Derek Powers for a job and soon became an expert saboteur and villain. She still managed to keep track of Deanna and sent her anonymous gifts she would need to live on her own. She revealed herself to Deanna when she was older and thought she would be ready but she didn't and wanted nothing more from her. She still sent her stuff she would need and stayed away. Her condition began to worsen due to the poisons in her system. She needed more of the mutagen and quickly turned to her daughter for help. Deanna betrayed her but Inque blamed herself and still held love for Deanna. She then took jobs and being payed in mutagen and spent every spare moment watching her daughter who she still held high hopes for.

Inque arrived at an abandoned subway station to deliver the trigger she stole but her employers open fire on her and demand she hands over the trigger. Inque quickly subdues the gunmen and is about to take out the head of the operation, Dr. Thawne from Cadmus. Thawne tells her that she kills him, then Thawne cannot cure her. Thawne gives her the mutagen and Inque gives him the trigger. Thawne leaves and Inque sets off. She visits Deanna in the hospital and puts a drop of her blood in her IV bag.
