Synopsis for "Guileful Greetings, or, The Joker Sends Regards!"

When Joker breaks out of jail the underworld throws a party for his escape complete with giant greeting cards. Drawing inspiration, the Joker commits a series of crimes where he sends Batman cryptic greeting cards giving the caped crusader clues as to what he intends rob. This eventually works against home, and Batman captures the Joker once more.

Synopsis for "The Batman That History Forgot"

Professor Carter Nichols wants to learn about a man named Batman in the 15th Century and he sends Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson back in time. The Dynamic Duo meet with Leonardo da Vinci and they help him fight back the oppression caused by a cruel ruler. On this mission, the great inventor uses his flying machine, which resembles a bat and he escapes the dreadful place along with Batman and Robin.

Afterwards, Bruce alters the story and tells Nichols that the man called Batman in the past was da Vinci, for his flying machine.

Trivia

  • On the third story, there are subtle references to the Batman's creation. According to Bob Kane, he based the character's design on Leondardo da Vinci's flying machine and its wings, which resemble that of a bat.
