Batman and Son is a Batman storyline written by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Andy Kubert. It's Morrison's debut arc on the Batman series and his third installment in the Morrison's Batman saga, following Gothic over fifteen years prior and followed by The Clown at Midnight. This storyline expands on plot threads from the earlier graphic novel Son of the Demon and reintroduces his son Ibn al Xu'ffasch as the character Damian Wayne.

In the Batman series it's published following James Robinson's One Year Later storyline Face the Face and is followed by John Ostrander's Grotesk. The collected edition is reprinted with The Clown at Midnight, Three Ghosts of Batman, The Black Casebook and Batman in Bethlehem. That edition is followed in publication by The Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul and The Black Glove.

Synopsis

After returning from a trip across the world with Nightwing and Robin, Batman meets his alleged son, Damian al Ghul, who's mother is Ra's al Ghul's daughter, Talia al Ghul. Damian lives with the Dark Knight for a while, expressing his interest in replacing Tim Drake as Robin. Batman must battle Ra's and the League of Assassins, and he attempts to become closer to his son. Tim, on the other hand, feels like Batman would prefer his real son as Robin, until Batman claims that he prefers Tim fighting by his side, rather than his hot headed, inexperienced, vicious son Damian.
