History

During the Knightquest-The Crusade, Harold Allnut designed and built the Subway Rocket that connects the Batcave to Gotham City's Subway system through the abandoned rail lines. The rocket was to be used in case the streets are obstructed, and Az-Bat needed to travel great distances in short time.

After the Earthquake that devastated Gotham, Bruce Wayne modernized and reactivated the Subway Rocket because the streets were impassable. The Rocket was also used by Dick Grayson during his time as Batman.

Capabilities

The Subway Rocket has two pairs of jets on its back enabling it to reach speeds of up to 250 miles per hour. As a result, the vehicle can reach any part of the city in mere minutes. Like the Batmobile, the Subway Rocket has an on-board computer with an advanced navigation system able to deviate from other vehicles and control the underground transit system. The Rocket also has anti tracking device.

Trivia

• In Gotham Underground Hugo Strange mentioned that Penguin has a similar vehicle and uses it to help other villains escape form the Suicide Squad.
