The Bear Boy was a creature born of the mating between a human squaw and a spirit person. Half-human and half-Bear, he was originally intended to be part of Buffalo Will's Wild West Show as a side attraction. Jonah Hex attempted to return him to his parents with the help of a Native American named Spotted Balls. This infuriated Buffalo Will, and he sent a posse led by Long Tom after them.^[1] Hex returned Bear Boy to the spirit people with his mother, but it cost Spotted Balls his life.^[2]
