The Black Lantern Corps is one of the nine Lantern Corps that draw power from the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum. The original was the Green Lantern Corps, and the Black Lanterns have been enemies to the super-hero Green Lantern. "Black" is the absence of color, so the Black Lanterns are fueled by death. Their power rings reanimate corpses to become intelligent zombies who feed on the intense emotions that only the living produce. Their leader is Nekron, their representative entity is the Black Hand, and their home planet is Ryut in Sector 666. The Black Lantern Corps was created by Geoff Johns, Ivan Reis, and Ethan Van Sciver, first appearing in Green Lantern (Volume 4) #25. (2008)
