Blackbeard was a notorious English pirate who operated around the West Indies and the eastern coast of the American colonies in the 17th and 18th centuries. In the New Earth and Earth-Two realities, he was secretly immortal caveman Vandal Savage. In most other realities (and in real life), his real name was Edward Teach (or Thatch).
