Synopsis for "Catharsis"

Travis tells Morris to drop the knife while Saffron sneaks up from behind. Morris turns his attention to Saffron and sends an electric discharge that shocks her to the ground. Travis lunges at Morris while his head is turned but Morris shocks Travis as well. Morris grabs the gun from Saffron and pistol whips her. Travis mocks Morris about his sexual fantasies with his father in order to get him away from Saffron. Morris shocks Travis out of anger then he reveals that he has been paid by the King to eliminate Travis. Morris could have killed Rachel and her mother then flee before Travis or Bell could get to the safe house but the contract that King put on Travis was too good to pass up. Morris sends a deadly jolt to into Travis' chest which seemingly kills him.

As Travis laid on the floor, he began to have flashbacks of his past life in the Atlanta PD. He remembers one night when he, Vincent and Patricia went bowling. Vincent rolled a perfect game of 300 then Travis starts to remember the night he had sex with Patricia which led to Michelle's conception. Patricia told Travis that Michelle is his child because she hadn't slept with Vincent for awhile. Travis remembers when Michelle started to talk and was happy in Vincent's arms so Travis kept his silence. Travis' last memory is him arguing with Vincent. Vincent eventually found out that Travis had slept with Patricia and fathered Michelle but Vincent was more pissed off that Travis refused to go along with Vincent's tampering of state evidence any longer. Vincent goes for a crowbar and swings at Travis but Travis reacts by shooting Vincent in the chest. Vincent goes for a photo of Michelle in his coat pocket and clutches onto it before the light in his eyes leave him.

This particular memory kick starts Travis' heart and the adrenaline through his body makes him practically invulnerable as Morris tries to shock Travis repeatedly out of fear. Travis lunges at Morris and they go through a window and fall onto a pile of fire logs. Morris ignites a fire log with his power and takes a few swings at Travis. Travis grabs the burning fire log from Morris and slams a closed fist into Morris' chest. As Morris tries to grasp for air, Travis puts Morris into a choke hold and Rachel cries out to Travis to kill Morris. Travis decides to not be the brutal madman that everyone thinks he is and releases an unconscious Morris from his hold. Rachel screams and spits at Travis for letting Morris live.

Travis is taken to the Greenburugh Hospital where Dr. Fleming expects Travis to make a full recovery then Patricia enters Travis' room with Rachel and Michelle. Rachel ultimately apologizes to Travis for spiting at him and thanks him for saving her life as well as her mother's. Michelle remains attached to Rachel's arm and is too shy to say anything. Patricia and Travis have a tearful conversation about Michelle before Agent Bell arrives. Patricia leaves the room crying before Saffron could apologize for interrupting. Saffron informs Travis that Kogney made good on his threat and is having Travis sent back to Red Clay Penitentiary while Saffron is put on a temporary leave for assaulting federal agents. Travis asks Saffron if he could interrogate Morris about who hired him before his transfer but Saffron relays that Morris had died on his way to the hospital due to his internal injuries.
