Synopsis for "Face Off"

In Downtown Metropolis, Mister Twister threatened to blow up a hockey game unless he was given three million in cash by 11:52 PM. Booster Gold, at first mistaken to be Superman, offered to help the police although Lt. Rogers refused. Booster Gold flew away and decided to enter the stadium before he was detected by Mister Twister. Across town, Dirk informed Trixie that Booster was involved in a hostage situation before she introduced him to her Aunt Jeanie.

After Mister Twister revealed Booster's attempt to stop him, the former decided that someone had to be punished and the latter attempted to be punished which involved the hockey players punching him although he made it look like he was getting hurt to hide the fact that his forcefield was protecting him. Skeets went to diffuse Mister Twister's bomb while Booster cut the power although the robot was unable to diffuse the bomb and the villain started a timer. Booster Gold rushed into the sky with the bomb before it detonated while Skeets zapped Mister Twister and prevented him from escaping. Dirk and Trixie, who were watching the coverage on television, were worried that Booster had died only to see him alive and talking to Rogers. Dirk exclaimed how Booster had money, fame, and women, all of which Trixie considered to be superficial things and wondered if they could call themselves his friends, as they did know where he came from or his real name.

Booster Gold flew in the sky with Skeets and expressed that he was starting to like it there before returning to his home to work on his tax problems. Booster looked a crystal ball before he slept and after he woke up, Dirk told him that his lawyer had convinced a judge to throw away his tax case and Booster was subsequently given an identification number instead of a social security number. When Trixie grabbed Booster's sphere, he angrily grabbed it back before Dirk told him about his Boostermobile. Elsewhere, a man named Myron told Senator Ballard that the judge sided with Booster, believing that he could not indict a superhero, while the senator planned to "repay" the hero for ruining his life and destroying his future.

Dirk and Trixie showed Booster his new Boostermobile which was actually the Brysler Booster Mark IV and was presented by Jeremy Brysler of Brysler Motors in exchange for his promotional services. Booster took the car for a drive with Brysler who explained its feats to him. As Booster sped through Metropolis and jumped over a bridge, Brysler fainted.

In space, near Jupiter, a scout ship attempted to evade a destroyer before he set his destination for Earth, where he came crashing, as he needed to reach to Metropolis for help in saving his planet.
