Boy Commandos was an American comic book series published by DC Comics from Winter of 1942 until December of 1949. The first thirteen issues of the series were published quarterly, but began a bi-monthly release schedule beginning with issue #14. Created by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon, the title featured the international "kid" adventurers known as the Boy Commandos. An elite commando squad of orphaned children, they were led by grown-up Captain Rip Carter, and fought on all fronts during the Second World War. In 1973, a second Boy Commandos series was published, reprinting classic vignettes from Detective Comics. The second series only lasted two issues however.
