History:

Canary was a soldier during World War II and served in the United States Army infantry division assigned to the detachment unit Easy Company. As his nickname implies, Canary had a penchant for whistling in the middle of combat. Whether Canary survived World War II, or whether he is even still alive remains unknown.

Notes:

• Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985-86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
• The character of Canary was created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert.
