Professional History
Carl Gafford is best known as a colorist for the comic industry. However, he began his professional career at DC Comics as an assistant proofreader in the production department in March 1973, and was promoted to full proofreader at the end of the year. Evidence of this can be found in Tarzan #226 (cover date: December 1973) where the credits read "Additional Dialogue by Carl Gafford." He began his coloring career with Justice League of America #115. Beginning with issue #288 of the Legion of Super-Heroes, he continued on that series for seven years without missing an issue.
