History

Cranius is one of the first Un-Men ever created by sorceror/scientist Anton Arcane. Physically, Cranius is a fully articulating head, rooted to a disembodied hand. It is likely that Cranius was created in early 1945 when Arcane was serving as an officer for the Nazi Party in Berlin during World War II.

Cranius eventually acquired a surrogate body for himself, although Cranius' core body still operated independently of it whenever he chose. As this body served as a roost or resting place of source, Cranius came to regard it as his own personal ottoman. While operating with the surrogate body, Cranius assumed the guise of scientist Otto von Schadel.
