Synopsis for "Double Feature"
West Point. 1941. Amanda Waller meets up with her newest soldier, Francine Charles. Francine started researching old myths and legends, looking to use the Nazis' superstitions against them. Nonetheless, her investigation has led her to believe the ancient myths are more real than she previously thought.
Amanda Waller takes her to the secret headquarters of the Bombshells, and Francine is debriefed on her next mission: finding and bringing Barbara Gourdon back. Barbara is a French ace pilot and WWI veteran that became known as "Batgirl" for her incredible skill. A German pilot called Luc Fuchs fell for her and defected. Barbara and Luc flew a hundred missions for Waller during the Great War, but one day Luc vanished and was declared Killed In Action. Barbara went a little mad, getting obsessed with finding something to bring the dead back. She headed to Louisiana after hearing rumors about a bog, and never returned. Now Waller has heard rumors that Barbara might be still alive, albeit completely changed.
Francine makes her way the bog and investigates a run-down mansion in the middle of the marshlands called "Belle Reve Manor House". She finds Barbara, who has became a vampire, and lives with her friends, Enchantress (a witch) and Ravager (a seer). Francine begins making her pitch but the coven of friends is not interested in her job offer and after a brief brawl dump her in the cellar where they keep Killer Croc locked when they are not in the mood to put up with him.
After running into Killer Croc and learning the three friends came to the mansion to hide, Francine escapes the cellar and confronts the trio again. During the ensuing fight Barbara repeats she doesn't want to come back: her family and friends are dead, her lover is dead and she is now a monster. Enchantress and Ravager are her only friends, and the latter's prophecies state that they will be hated and despised if they step out of the mansion. She already fought for Waller and lost Luc in her service. Why should she go?
Then Francine drops the bomb, providing proof that Luc is still alive, prisoner of the Germans. Barbara feels torn: she can not leave him, but she can not leave her friends either. Ravager does not want her to go either, and reminds her that her prophecies have never been wrong. Francine shows that they missed an important line: they will be hated and despised until they find the Mistress of Magic. She promises to help them find her. Barbara is still doubtful and scared, but Sorceress encourages her: Barbara has to rescue her long-lost lover and her friends will go with her.
Back headquarters, Francine reports Waller her mission's success and introduces the Bombshells' newest tactical team: the Suicide Squad, comprised of Batgirl, Sorceress, Ravager and Killer Croc, and led by Francine.
