Synopsis for "Up in the Sky"
With the knowledge of the impending meteor impact, the tribes have stopped warring and gather for the end. DV8 turns to Freestyle for answers but she is busy using her powers trying to figure out what to do.
Copycat's interrogators continue to drill her for information, especially concerning Freestyle. Copycat finally has had enough and has an emotional outburst. Her captures patiently wait while she calms down.
As Freestyle strains to use her powers to figure out what to do about the meteor, she shows signs that using her powers for such a long time without a break is hurting her. But she presses on. Threshold finally gets fed up and takes it out on the locals who have gathered around DV8 hoping they would save them. But it's too late as the meteor comes screaming towards the planet. The strain kills Freestyle and as a Shift-Door opens, the gang retreats into the Door as the comet destroys the planet.
On The Carrier, Copycat's mysterious captors are finally revealed. Midnighter escorts Jackson King into the room. He explains to Copycat that the planet was doomed anyway and this was all an exercise. He then offers for her and the team to join him in making their Earth a better place. However, an upset Copycat criticize to King that she and DV8 have always been manipulated even when they think they are free from their control. King then sympathetically ask her what does she wants in which Copycat sadly replies that she want a funeral for Freestyle. She continues that after that, she and the others will maybe listen to King and then reminding him that "We're no one's lab rats, no one's puppets. You'll have to earn our help."
