History

The Head of Danaus had the ability to command wild animals and this ability was used by two contenders who sought the Ambrosia. The first was Prince Alrik, who procured the head after slaying Danaus ^[1]. He would later use the head to attack both Kratos and his men, but the Spartan would not be denied his goal ^[2]. He survived the attack and pursued Alrik who'd also gained possession of the Ambrosia during the confusion of the former battle. When the two next fought Kratos would regain both the Ambrosia and the head and use its powers to deter Alrik long enough to allow him to return home and save his daughter's life ^[3].
