Perhaps if I destroy you all, I'll be healthy and whole again? Sounds reasonable, doesn't it? I mean, just prove to me that any of this is reality... Quote2

Byblows is a three-issue Deathblow mini-series written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Jim Baikie. Its storyline does not follow Michael Cray, but several of his clones created as potential replacements by International Operations.

Synopsis

In the middle of an unknown jungle, a birthing pod releases a dripping naked woman with the nametag Genevieve Cray. She cuts her own umbilical cord and makes clothing by killing and skinning a feline beast. Wandering through the bizarre landscape with her makeshift spear, she finds another birthing pod that has released a cyborg named Klaus Cray. This machine immediately tries to kill her and they battle until they're both sent over a waterfall, where she escapes and Klaus is washed away. Taking his gun, she meets a small well-dressed man named John-Joe Cray who offers to lead her to shelter. John-Joe explains that there are more Crays out there than the ones they've met already. That night Genevieve dreams about the life of Michael Cray, recalling one of his memories from Team 7 with Cole Cash and Jackson Dane. The next day Genevieve and John-Joe find the corpse of a Michael Cray, Jr. in another pod and Genevieve speaks for the first time to say her own name.[1] They burn the pod and John-Joe leads Genevieve to an empty town, where they're shot at by Damon Cray. He explains that he thought they were working with Klaus, and Klaus bursts through a wall to attack them again. Genevieve knocks out Klaus and ties him up, then steals fancy clothing from the town and goes to sleep. She's awoken from another flashback by Caleb Cray, an animal-like beast who insists he's just trying to save her. This is confirmed when John-Joe and his twin Joe-John Cray try to kill her and escape, having already murdered Klaus. Genevieve and Caleb travel together until they find the heads of Damon, Joe-John and John-Joe on pikes, leading them to a man calling himself Judgment Cray.[2]
