Synopsis for "Journey into the Abyss"

Worriedly, Slade Wilson realizes that, somehow, I-Ching has made him young again. As he searches the ruins of his fortress in the Ukraine, he is surprised to find a masked swordsman waiting for him. A voice from behind him explains that this man is just a hologram - a depiction of Deathstroke's next target, Odysseus. He introduces himself as Red Fury, explaining that every hideout Deathstroke ever had has been compromised, along with his bank accounts. In the face of Slade's doubt and rage, Red Fury claims that they he had hired Slade some time ago, but that the mission was so sensitive as to require that Slade's memory of it be erased, in exchange for 25 million in gold. He offers a truth serum to jog Slade's memory.

Suddenly, the pair are attacked by an army of swordsmen, and Slade realizes that they must want him alive, if they didn't simply bomb him. Despite his superior fighting, his aim is off, thanks to the restoration of his bad eye. After fighting off every one of them, he discovers one of his attackers trapped beneath some rubble, and forces the truth serum into his mouth. The man explains that Odysseus thinks Slade can somehow make him into a god.

Elsewhere, Bronze Tiger remains skeptical of Lady Shiva's plan for Odysseus and Deathstroke. She warns him that while Odysseus is weak, Bronze Tiger must lead the League of Assassins to hunt down any who put Odysseus' power in jeopardy, and that means seeing Deathstroke - his old friend - dead.

Slade hasn't been attacked in days - but nor has he seen Red Fury, either. He wanders secluded roads in eastern Europe, wondering if someone is messing with his head. He hopes to get back to Moscow and determine whether his brief partner Angelica is still alive, and then look into his handler, Ben Williams, who he no longer trusts. In the meantime, though, he is curious about the truth serum he was given. The man he'd administered it to had survived a dose, so he wonders if using it on himself could actually help him remember.

Upon drinking it, he sees himself in another place, fighting his way toward his imprisoned son, Jericho.
