Trivia

  • This issue gets its title, The Wild One from the 1953 film of the same name. The Marlons is a reference to the film's lead, Marlon Brando, who played the leader of a biker gang whose name was also Johnny.
  • Etrigan was in a gang in his youth, The North-Hell Bloods, with Brandor. Their rivals, The Southside Crips were led by Rectomm.
  • First mention of Lady Smegma. She was Rectomm's girl before Etrigan stole her.
  • There is a comedic reference to Marvel's Ghost Rider. Burning Johnny Basterson's head and sending him off on his bike, Etrigan calls him "Toast Rider".
  • Bogrol's fellow sentry at the Gates of Hell is not named until their second appearance in Demon (Volume 3) #55
