Quote1 The pistol is NOT floating in the air, you see I have quite a firm grip on it, only you can't see me. Baffling, isn't it? Quote2

Synopsis for Inspector Kent of Scotland Yard: "The Invisibility Formula"

Dr. Ronald Wainwright has perfected an Invisibility Formula, and it was stolen, so he calls Inspector Kent at Scotland Yard. At Wainwright's laboratory, they find his assistant, Henry Adams, tied up in a closet, and are told that the Raven has stolen the formula, with which he could potentially rule the world. As Kent deduced later, this was actually not Adams, but the Raven, disguised as Adams.

At that moment, another of the Raven's agents telephones Inspector Kent at Wainwright's lab, and falsely reports that the Raven has been captured. This ruse lures Kent into his car and onto the highway, where two gunmen in another car ambush and pursue him. At a crossroads, a third car crashes into the second car, from which the gunmen were shooting at Kent. The third driver, Wendy Foster, has deliberately rammed the gangster car to disrupt the shooting; she is thrown clear and lands mostly uninjured. Her car is now undriveable and she joins Inspector Kent on his trip to Scotland Yard. Wendy tags along at Kent's meeting with his boss, who claims to have the Raven in custody. But no, this is just Algy Hawks, a familiar busted swindler; Kent's not buying it and neither is Miss Foster.

Meanwhile back at his estate, Dr. Wainwright is murdered with a gunshot. The Raven has returned, and now makes use of Wainwright's own equipment, gloating and boasting to an empty room the whole time, to turn himself invisible. And it works.

Inspector Kent drives back from Scotland Yard to Wainwright's estate, with Miss Foster accompanying him. There they are confronted and mocked by the invisible Raven. Kent pulls out his pistol; the invisible criminal grabs it away and points it at him. But he keeps talking, undermining his own advantage. At that moment Wainwright's assistant Adams arrives, figures out what's what, and heroically intervenes, getting a nonfatal bullet wound in the process. But in the next moment, the Raven's invisibility treatment begins to wear off. Kent springs in and delivers a knock-out punch. The Raven is now fully visible, but he has disguised himself as Adams, as part of his quite complicated plan, but now he's under arrest.

Synopsis for Steve Malone: "Luigi Ferrini Strikes"

Luigi Ferrini is a bank-robbing mad-dog killer, and leaves some dead cops and a teller in his wake. Steve Malone's old ruffian friend Big Jim, the Russian, has some info that could help catch Ferrini, but Jim has complicated things by smashing up a river-front saloon in a brawl. City cops bring Big Jim in, and he tells Malone of a likely place to catch Ferrini, out in the country. By this time it's already evening, but Steve and Jim jump into a car, and head out of town. Somewhere ahead of them, Ferrini and his gunsels are already arriving at his hideout.

Steve and Jim surround the house and charge in through both doors, guns out. Ferrini blows out the cabin's only light, a candle, and there's gunfire. When light is restored, only Jim and Steve are unwounded, and Ferrini has left. They see a sedan zooming away, pile into their open-top roadster, and pursue. The short chase brings them to Luigi Ferrini's private airstrip, from which already he is attempting to fly away! Steve drives the speeding car under the rising airplane, hands off the wheel to the Russian, grabs and chins himself onto the landing gear, clambers into the cockpit, and dukes it out with the pilot. This sends the plane into a spin, but Steve soon overpowers Ferrini, grabs the control stick, and safely lands the plane.

Ferrini and his ratty undesirables are arrested, and Steve persuades the Judge to dismiss the saloon-smashing charges against Big Jim; Steve and the Judge chip in on a modest financial reward for him also.
