"Speed Saunders: "The Death Sled"": Tommy Dell gets murdered in a fake sledding accident, by a butler named Jameson. Speed Saunders solves the case.

Quote1 The United States is fairly swarming with foreign espionage agents because of the troubled situation in Europe. If one of these unamerican groups could be successfully prosecuted, no doubt all other spies would be frightened away, and we'll be well rid of them! I want you to use your ingenuity and trap a spy mob. Quote2
Franklin D. Roosevelt

Synopsis for The Crimson Avenger: "The Airline Insurance Murders"

On the headline of a newspaper by the Globe-Leader, it read that a second airplane had fell out of the sky that week. Lee noted that in both of the incidents, the pilots bailed out of the planes; he asked his employee Mac to investigate it as they were suspicious. Suddenly, two engineers from Chicago walked into Lee's office, hoping to receive jobs from him. Lee recommended that they go to a rubber magnate named H.A. Powers, informing them that he had been looking for young workers to go to his South American plant.

Next, the two young engineers met up with Powers, who hired them only after a few minutes of conversation. Powers told them to get on a bus that will take them to the airport. The next, day, when the two young men were on the bus, a man ordered his accomplice, who was driving a truck, to ram into their bus, causing a crash. Suddenly, a plane in the sky exploded, prompting Lee to check the passenger list for each past disaster.

Meanwhile, at Powers' house, a man threatened to take his plant if he did not provide more money for him. Powers responded by giving the man roughly $25,000. Next, Powers told one of his subordinates to call the Globe-Leader and ask them why there weren't anymore people looking to work for them. Meanwhile, in Lee Travis' office, one of his employees informed him that H.A. Powers was almost bankrupt. Lee noted that Powers was hiring many young men, leaving him suspicious. Later, he suited up as the Crimson Avenger in an attempt to learn more about Powers' motives. At Powers' house, he was conversing with a young man, who he planned to send to South America. Meanwhile, the Crimson had infiltrated Powers' house and found a time device in his office.

The next day, Lee instructed his employee Ed to book a flight to South America on a plane that Powers would be boarding as well and monitor him. Meanwhile, at Powers' residence, his subordinate Jenks informed him that he had prepared their time device. In the afternoon, Lee went to H.A. Powers' estate, where he was confronted by one of the guards. Lee told the guard that he was a reporter who was trying to get a picture for his paper, much to the guard's suspicion, who asked where his camera was and escorted him to a dark cellar. After hours of searching the room, Lee, who brought his lineman's phone with him, connected it to an outlet on a wall and contacted Wing and told him to get a ticket for Powers and pick him up at 9:30.

Later, Wing arrived at the estate with Lee's Crimson Avenger disguise and pointed a gun at Powers, who was in a different section of his estate. Powers attempted to fight back, but was sprayed with gas from the Crimson's gas gun, knocking him unconscious. Next, Crimson picked up Powers' body and ordered Wing to drive them to the airport. The two heroes drove to the airport and dropped Powers' body, where men were waiting for him. The men believed that Powers was drunk and hauled him inside of a plane. Once the plane took off, Powers regained consciousness, not knowing where he was. A flight attendant told him that he was on a flight to South America, causing him to panic. Next, Powers grabbed a satchel from one of his subordinates and threw it out of the plane before it exploded.

Back at the Globe-Leader, it was revealed that Powers had confessed to the "accidents" and that he intended to collect $5,000 or more on each fatality.
