Synopsis for Speed Saunders, and the River Patrol: "Fred Dunn, Fugitive"

Fred Dunn escapes from jail and tries to get to Boston on a steamer. Along with another stowaway, an undercover Speed Saunders, he decides to break out near Boston. The two men jump overboard and are picked up by a fishing boat, but the trawler's captain refuses to take them ashore, and so they are trapped on the boat for some time. At first upset about being held on the fishing boat, Dunn starts to take a liking to the work. He even saves the captain's life when he falls overboard while pulling up a net. When it's finally time to dock, despite Dunn's new turnaround, and the captain's vouching for him, Speed knows he doesn't have a choice but to bring Dunn to jail. It was his job.

But when he calls his boss, Inspector Moran, he learns the Fred Dunn's name had been cleared while they were away. He was a free man! There was, of course, only one thing Dunn wanted to do with his life, now. He officially applies to be on the fishing boat as a crew member.

Cosmo follows in his own car, careful not to alert his quarry until he finds out where the bodies are taken. The thief finally stops in front of a house, carrying his prize inside. When Cosmo sneaks in, he finds a makeshift laboratory. It turns out that Carl Huntley, an eminent scientist who had disappeared, has gone insane and is trying to bring all the bodies back to life. Cosmo tries to talk to the professor, but his voice startles the man, and he flings a chemical to the ground, resulting in flames leaping all across the floor. Huntley passes out, so Cosmo has to carry him to safety.

Later, in the hospital, Huntley seems to have regained his sanity after resting. His memories of what he had done were gone. The inspector and Cosmo decide to leave it at that, having solved the case.

Synopsis for Bruce Nelson: "The Claws of the Red Dragon (Part 8 of 8)"

Tied to a cot in the attic, with only a few minutes before Sigrid von Holtzendorff is tortured to death, Bruce Nelson struggles hard to get free. But every time he tries, the Chinese guard moves closer and hits him until he stops. The guard goes back to his spot, in front of the doorway. Suddenly, from behind, a hatchet comes down into the guards back, killing him. The assassin has returned!

Meanwhile, Sigrid is finally escorted out of her room and taken to the well-furnished library, where Chin Lung awaited along with an old Chinese man who stood by a table with surgical instruments spread out upon it. Sigrid's father is also brought into the room, just as promised, to watch his own daughter suffer. Then, a gunshot! Followed by several more. The guards were all clamoring in the excitement, as footsteps ran down the hall towards the room. Bruce Nelson appears in the doorway, followed by a rival Tong gang that attacks Lu Gong's men. Sigrid and her father are untied, Bruce grabs the jade dragon plaque from where he left it, and the three of them wait for the fighting to stop.

Unfortunately, Lu Gong and Chin Lung were able to escape. Bruce joins von Holtzendorff back at his New York apartment. He shows them the back of the plaque, where Chinese writing translated to an old poem that, when complete, pointed to the location of the Ming Dynasty treasure. Recovering it would have almost assured Lu Gong of being crowned King of China. It's just too bad that he'll never get his hands on it. At least for now, Bruce's adventure was over, as he and Sigrid embrace.
