History
Very little is known of the history behind the man who would become known as Ding-Dong Daddy. Several years ago, he established himself in the hot rod circuit with his Demon Dragster – a modified t-bucket Hot Rod. Before long however, he decided to use his knowledge of auto mechanics as the backbone of a criminal gang. He set himself up in a small bike shop where he began construction of several customized vehicles designed to aid him in his underworld exploits.
Ding-Dong came to the town of Harrison where he began a recruitment drive for his hot rod gang. He scouted out the area surrounding Harrison High School and succeeded in seducing several high school drop-outs into joining his gang.
Meanwhile, the Presidential Commission on Education called upon the Teen Titans to investigate the increasing drop-out rate among students in the Harrison area. After investigating the high schools, they learned of Ding-Dong’s operation and embarked upon a plan to bring him down. They disguised themselves as drop-outs and convinced Ding-Dong to let them join his gang. Before long however, the Titans exposed his criminal exploits and Ding-Dong was arrested.

Notes
- It is uncertain whether Ding-Dong's single appearance is considered a part of modern continuity. His personality and vernacular is germane to the 1960s "mod" culture and his existence in the Post-Crisis environment may in fact be considered apocryphal.
Trivia
- Ding-Dong Daddy is based on Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, an artist and custom car designer who earned notoriety in 1960s Southern California with his modified hot rods and trademark character, Rat-Fink.
Appearances in Other Media
Ding-Dong Daddy made an appearance on the Teen Titans animated series. In the episode, "Revved Up", he stole a Titanium alloy briefcase from Robin and challenged him to a drag race to win it back. While Ding-Dong rode in his t-bucket hot rod, Robin raced him on his motorcycle. Robin's friends, Cyborg and Beast Boy attempted to help him, but Ding-Dong put the T-Car out of commission by way of his moving "Pit-Stop on Wheels" (driven by two multi-colored gremlins). Robin ultimately won the race however, and recovered his briefcase. In "Titans Together", Ding-Dong Daddy was inside the Brotherhood of Evil base as one of the villains battling against the five Titans that escaped the Brotherhood previously. He sped towards them with his hot rod, but Titans Kole and Gnarrk intercepted him, destroying his car.
