Powers and Abilities

Powers

  • Energy Projection: Sun Boy can internally generate an almost limitless supply of solar energy, from the smallest candle flicker to a blistering furnace. He is also immune to virtually all forms of heat and solar radiation.

    Abilities

  • Pilot: Sun Boy was an above-average pilot and frequently piloted the Legion LX-811 space cruisers.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Sun Boy possessed a small degree of understanding when it came to 30th century technology, and could often be found effecting repairs on Legion star cruisers.
  • Photography: Sun Boy was an amateur photographer, but typically only engaged in the activity as a hobby in his spare time.

    Strength level

  • Athlete: Sun Boy possessed the strength level of a man his age, size and weight who engaged in intensive regular exercise.

    Weaknesses

  • Sun Boy's power to radiate light and heat can be reflected back on him by mirrors, jewels and even creatures that possess reflective physical characteristics. If he increases his radiation power to full strength he can crack mirrors in these situations.
  • Sun Boy is nyctophobic, which is a fear of the dark. Fortunately for Dirk, his powers compensate for this fear, and it rarely presents a problem for him.

Paraphernalia

Transportation

  • LX-811 star cruiser: The LX-811 was a standard 30th Century space cruiser used by many members of the Legion for different missions.
  • Legion Time Bubble: For missions which involved time travel (which was frequent), Sun Boy had access to the Legion Time Bubble.
